Tom Carroll opened his first practice at 29 Eden Quay in 1965.
Having served his apprenticeship under renowned Dublin Optometrist and marathon runner, Billy Morton, Tom went on to open a second practice in the newly built Dundrum Shopping Centre in 1972.
In 1987 he was joined by his daughter Helen, returning from London where she had trained as a Dispensing Optician at City and East London College. Helen’s special interests include contact lenses and paediatric dispensing.
In 2010 Steven Orr, Helen’s husband joined the practice. Already a qualified optical laboratory technician, Steven returned to college and also qualified as a Dispensing Optician. Steven’s specialty is also paediatric dispensing and the fitting of spectacles for children with special needs.
